Who'd vote for Enufism?

Selling Enufism is hardly likely to be a popular vote winner, you say, as we are conditioned to believe growth is a must for our wealth and wellbeing.
Not everyone is fooled. Fortunately many now have come to realise that the relentless pursuit of growth has not delivered on its promises of health, wealth and happiness.
The state of health of people in the developed nations is deteriorating rapidly, through obesity and consumption of ultra-processed foods (another name for foods laced with potential hazards). And what about the humongous rise in autism and other lasting behavioural problems amongst our young? There has to be a link between what they eat and drink and their unfortunate conditions.
The wealth of the majority of people in the developed nations is also falling rapidly, as incomes fall relative to inflation, and the cost of everything, from housing to health care, has sky-rocketed. Contrast that with the immense and growing wealth of the super-rich, who comprise a tiny proportion of the world's population.
Last (but by no means least), is happiness. Here, in this supposedly wonderful, growth-fuelled world, we have never witnessed so much mental illness and depression as now. Our young people have never been so despairing of their future, and perhaps (or even probably) the rise in drug-taking has much to do with this despair.
So although facially the idea of voting for a candidate espousing Enufist principles doesn't appear a winner, if people were to reflect on how they feel deep inside, they should hopefully come to the conclusion that their Enufist candidate is the person to support.
First, though, we need Enufist candidates to vote for ... but that's for another day!
