Growth has gone crazy

If we carry on the way we're going with world economic growth, the word "exponential" will take on new meaning!

It is simpy madness to think we can go on like this. But the human sheep are shepherded by politicians into believing growth is the passport to happiness.

How else can a politician get elected, other than by promising us more wealth to buy more stuff, to take air travel to visit new cities in new countries (only to find that they have become homogenised clones, with Starbucks, MacDonalds, Zara on lookalike streets), and to buy yet more expensive (and inexpensive) clothing that is often worn once before being discarded?

The growth fetish is like a drug. Once you're hooked, there's no escape .... but there is! Enufism!
